10월의 진고개 길

단풍이 들기 전 골짜기 나무들의 그림자는 고달프다
늦은 하늘 길이 구름을 찾아나서야 한 생의 깊이 물들이고
나무들의 한 계절을 건널 준비를 한다

산길은 높고 바람은 충분히 상처를 감싸며 차가워졌다
한기가 내려온 골짜기 산짐승들은 생의
깊은 곳까지 몸을 맡길 준비하는지 보이지 않는 다
어떤 성자나 은자도 자기 모습이 들러나면
잠시 부풀린 몸의 한 쪽을 찬바람에서 지나간 기억을 깎아야 내야한다

나는 이런 결핍이 없는 가을 저녁이 좋다
집과 나무와 거대한 힘의 기울기를
새벽 한기에 세워두고 오래된 속내를 감추며
산 그림자를 넘어온 깊은 곳을 건너는 안부들도
산이 무거워 진다는 것을 알고 있다

그러나 새로운 어둠에 손을 잡고 깊게 파인

산길에 들어가 나오지 않는 쓸쓸함도 힘이 되는
산맥의 바람과 찬 서리가 내리기 전 대칭된 계절은
또 수련하는 날을 건너서 가야 한다

Jin Ridge in October

The shadows of trees in the valley are weary
Before they turn autumn colors
Only when the late sky-path goes out
To look for clouds
Is the lifetime colored deep
Getting ready to cross a season of the trees 

The mountain trail is high, the wind has become cold
Covering the wounds sufficiently
One cannot see whether mountain animals in the cold valley are preparing to surrender themselves to the depths of life
Any saints or hermits, when their figures are revealed,
Ought to withdraw briefly the inflated part of their body, like their memory, from the cold wind

I prefer an autumn evening flawless like this
The best regards that cross deep places that climb over mountain shadows, bracing houses, trees, and giant tilting power against the dawn’s cold, and hiding the old intentions, know that the mountains are becoming heavier

The symmetrical seasons－before the winds from the mountain-range arrive and cold frost falls－must go through a journeyman’s day.  Solitude, hand in hand with new darkness, keeps to the beaten mountain tracks, and offers some solace.
