가을이 오면

홍해리

사내도 때로는 나락에 떨어져 울고 싶은 때가 있다
오동의 속살을 밤새도록 손톱으로 파는 밤이 있다
한평생이 독같이 외로운 어둠의 길이어서
울리지 않는 은자隱者의 북을 두드리면서
홀로 고요해지고 있는 저 들판의 저녁녘
너덜거리는 옷때기 한 자락 걸치고 있는
허수아비
텅 빈 가슴이 되고픈 때가 있다.

When Autumn Comes

Even a stout man at times wants to fall into the abyss and lament
There are nights when he digs into the paulownia tree’s inner flesh
With fingernails
On a path of darkness solitary like poison for life
Beating the hermit’s drum that doesn’t resound
Toward evening over that field that gets hushed
Wearing a piece of garment that flutters
There are times when the scarecrow wants to become
A vacant bosom.
