전야

노을이 붉다
사방이 고요하다
초저녁잠이 막 밀려오는데

흩뿌리는 빗줄기 앞세우고
그가 오는가
후드득 소리에 선잠이 깬다
담장 아래 나무들, 머리채를 흔든다
흔들릴수록 더 젖는다
젖을수록 휘어진다

저기 그가 온다
산과 나무를 안고
아파트를 안고
놀이터 미끄럼틀을 안고
쓰레기통을 안고
도둑고양이를 안고
낙과를 안고
질경이와 달개비를 안고
막 달려온다

출렁, 밤이 뒤집힌다

On the Eve

The twilight is purple.
All quiet all around.
Early evening sleep floods in.

Is he coming
Following the scattering rain-streaks?
The thud startles me out of a slumber.
The trees under the fenceㅡ
The more they sway their long tress of hair,
The wetter they get.
The wetter they get, they bend deeper.

There he comes…
Embracing hill and tree
Embracing an apartment building
Embracing the slide in the playground
Embracing the rubbish can
Embracing the stray cat
Embracing fallen fruit
Embracing plantain and dayflower
He comes in a rush.

Tumbling, the night turns inside out.
