동갑同甲

타지마 시인과 나는 동갑이다

타지마 시인은 패전한 해에
나는 해방된 해에 태어났다

닭띠들은 참 바쁘게 산다고
우리 동갑들은 초년이 그리 평안하지 못했다고

환하게 웃어주는 이마에
후쿠오카의 가을 햇살이 반짝 빛났던

타지마 시인*은 천상 시인이었다

Poet Tajima and I are of the same age

Poet Tajima was born in the year of the defeat in the war
I was born in the year of liberation

Those born in the year of the fowl lead hectic lives
Our age group had turbulent early years

On his brow while he was smiling brightly
Fukuoka's sunbeams shone in a flash

Poet Tajima* is an inborn poet.
