빗소리

한 무리의 말들이 멀리 초원을 달려와 아득한 자작나무 숲으로 멀어진다 또 한 무리의 말들이 산을 넘어와 강을 따라 멀어진다 다시 또 한 무리 말들이 달려올 때, 잽싸게 달리는 말 잔등에 올라탄다

광개토대왕 깃발을 펄럭이며 만주 대평원을 달린다 말고삐를 머리 위로 휘휘 돌리며 울란바트라 대초원을 달려 텐센 산맥을 넘는다 보스포로스 해협에서 마침내 무너진 견고했던 성을 지긋이 내려다본다 조국보다 사랑을 움켜잡고 코사코 그 사내, 우크라이나 대초원을 달린다 생존은 지루함을 인정하지 않으므로 마라강의 악어는 누우의 생에 절정이다 필히 사바나 대초원을 달려야 한다

달려야 한다! 달려야 한다!
거칠게 울어대는 말 울음소리 
번뜩 눈을 뜬다

창문 밖 빨랫줄에 작업복 한 벌
아무도 태울 수 없는 말안장이 밤새 젖고 있다

Sound of Rain

A herd of horses race over the vast prairie and head for the forest of birch trees. Another herd of horses come over the hill and proceed along the river. Still another herd approach; they jump on the backs of the horses.

The great king races over the Manchurian prairie flying flags. Wielding the reins over his head, he races over Ulan Bator prairie and climbs over Tiensin mountain range. At last at the Bosphorus strait he stares down at the impregnable castle that will finally crumble. Clutching his love for fatherland, the rider races over Ukraine prairie. Survival does not allow boredom. The crocodiles of Mara river represent the ultimate for the reindeer. They must run over the savanna.

Must race, must race
The sounds of horses roaring wildly
They blink their eyes

A pair of working suits on clotheslines outside the window
A saddle gets wet through the night
That cannot carry anyone.
