밤골 버스 안의 밤꽃 향기

덜커덩거리던 버스가 밤골에 선다.

밤꽃 향기 들이마시며 기지개 한 번 켠다.

알사탕 문 아이가

밤꽃잎 달랑달랑 떨어지는 길가에 쉬를 하다가,

버스가 덜덜덜 서두르자

고추를 털다 말고 버스에 얼른 오른다.

밤톨 같은 아이의 콧물에서 밤꽃 향기가 난다.

아랫도리에서 미처 빠져나오지 못한 밤꽃 몇 잎이

훌훌 날아 옆자리 노인의 팔에 살짝 기댄다.

노인이 지팡이를 콕콕 찍는다.

버스 안은 밤꽃 향기로 가득하다.

차창으로 밀려드는 바람이 밤꽃잎을 슬쩍슬쩍 건드린다.

밤꽃잎들 사르르 온몸 흔들며 꽃비로 흩날리다가,

뒷자리 새댁의 치마폭에 살포시 내려앉는다.

새댁의 얼굴이 붉어진다.

아낙들이 피실피실 웃는다.

풀밭에서 있었던 꽃잠이야기 풀어진다.

풀꽃들도 낯빛을 붉히더란다.

The bus that has been clattering stops in the chestnut valley.

The child mouthing a lollipop pisses by the roadside

Where chestnut leaves plunge.

As the bus makes haste, he swiftly gets on the bus while weeing;

The child's chestnut-like snivel smells of the night flower's scent.

A few chestnut leaves that still remain in his pants

Fly over and lean lightly on the arm of the old man

sitting in the next seat.

The old man pokes the floor with his staff,

The bus fills with night flower fragrance.

The wind pouring through the window touches the chestnut leaves.

The chestnut leaves shake and waver like flower rain,

Softly landing in the skirts of the new bride

Sitting in the seat just behind.

The women cackle,

The flower's sleep tales in the grass field uncoil.

The grass flower flushes, they say.
