척, 하며 가는 길

너에게로 가는 길은 막다른 도로이다.

사방이 벽으로 쌓인 도로이다.

꺽꺽 차오르는 목구멍에서 오리소리가 난다.

이십사 시간 산소 없이 살아간다.

어떻게 살 수 있느냐고 묻는다.

그건, 그냥 사는 거다. 살아주는 거다.

삶의 깊이가 꼭 발목까지만 닫는 얇고 딱딱한,

그 자리에 서서 한 길 어둠만 퍼 올린다.

금이 간 마음의 동공이 도로가에 실핏줄을 남긴다.

메마른 두 눈에서 돌알이 커 가는데 눈물이 난다.

눈물은 안개로 남아 막다른 도로 위에 눕는다.

사는 척 하는 거다. 척, 하며 습관적으로 사는 거다.

꽉 막힌 좁은 도로에서도 척, 하면 길이 열리더라.

A Way That One Goes Pretending

The way to you is a dead-end road,

A road surrounded by walls on all sides.

A duck cries out of the choking throat.

It lives without oxygen around the clock.

Asked how it can survive, it replies:

It's merely living, doing a favor of living.

Standing in a place, shallow and hard,

Where life's depth reaches just up to the ankle,

It only hauls up a fathom of darkness.

The cracked mind's pupil leaves its capillary vessels by the road.

While stones grow in the two dry eyes, tears come out.

The tears remain as fog, lying down over the dead-end road.

It pretends to live, living habitually pretending.

Even in narrow dead-end roads, roads often unfold if one pretends.
